Aptitude test: test the ability to learn new skills
Achievement test: test skills that have alreay been aquired
Test Criteria
Reliability: scores are consistently evaluated
Standardization: can be compared to other tests to yield meaningful results
Validity: measures what is supposed to be measured in test
Normal Curves
Result from standardized tests can usually be describes in a normal curve. Most scores will fall within the average, and as the scores grow higher or lower, the distance from the middle increases and the scores will decrease.
